AUSTIN, Texas – Our Lady of the Lake scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes and netted another in the second half to edge Concordia University Texas, 3-2, on Friday afternoon at St. Stephen's Episcopal School.

The Tornados (1-2-2) tied the match in the 52nd minute on Lena New's second goal of the season, which was set up by Chastity Carrillo's pass.

However, less than a minute later, Amaris Tavares converted a corner kick into the game-winning score after heading home a corner kick from Stephanie Diaz.

The Saints (4-1-1) held off Concordia Texas in the final 37 minutes to pick up the win.

Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) opened the scoring in the third minute as Hayley Tiernay and Teegan Luckemeyer tied together passes that set up Stephanie Vazquez for an open goal.

Seven minutes later, Luckemeyer scored on a breakaway that was set up by a punt from goalkeeper Gabriela Lopez.

The Tornados cut the deficit in half in the 12th minute as Carrillo buried a penalty kick.

The two teams combined to take only four shots the rest of the period.

OLLU outshot Concordia 13-9, while Megan Frontiera posted a match-high six saves for the Tornados.

Concordia will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 19, when it hosts Houston-Victoria (2-4). The non-conference contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen's.
