RICHARDSON, Texas – Jo'Anna Davis hit a pair of free throws at the 18:49 mark of the first half, and Texas-Dallas led wire-to-wire in a 73-66 American Southwest Conference (ASC) victory over the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon at the UTD Activity Center.

Davis posted a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Comets (11-2, 8-2 ASC). Morgan Kilgore netted a team-high 15 points and Madi Hess scored 14 and grabbed nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Tornados (7-8, 5-7 ASC) had three players score double figures, led by Tyler Compton's game-high 21 points. Ally Terry chipped in with a dozen points and a team-high eight boards, while Celeste Laredo scored 10.

Concordia Texas cut Texas-Dallas' lead to 55-52 after Ashlyn Ward hit a 3-pointer with 4:43 to go. However, the Comets ripped off a 9-0 run to build a 12-point advantage, their largest of the contest.

The Tornados, who shot 34.2 percent (25-of-73) from the floor, were unable to get any closer than seven points down the stretch.

Concordia will continue its road trip on Thursday, Jan. 23 at Sul Ross State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Gallego Center in Alpine.
