AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team will host a pair of American Southwest Conference (ASC) opponents this week at Concordia Fieldhouse. The Tornados will face Ozarks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before taking on Texas-Tyler at 1 p.m. two days later.
ABOUT CONCORDIA TEXAS
Concordia (5-6, 3-5 ASC) has dropped back-to-back league contests on the road. CTX dropped a 71-64 decision at rival Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night. The Tornados in seventh place in the ASC standings. Concordia ranks sixth in the league at 71.1 points per game, and the squad continues to lead the circuit in field goal percentage defense (.348) and steals per game (15.1). Senior guard
Tyler Compton leads the Tornados and ranks second in the ASC with 19 points per game, while junior center
Domonique Liddell ranks fourth in the league with 8.1 rebounds per contest. Senior guard
Margaret Milling also ranks second in the conference with 3.0 steals per game.
ABOUT OZARKS
The Lady Eagles bring a 3-7 overall record (2-5 ASC mark) into Austin on Thursday. Ozarks has won two of its last three games, including a 91-66 drubbing of Sul Ross State last Saturday. The Lady Eagles average 67.5 points per outing, which ranks ninth in the league, and the squad has been outrebounded by nearly 11 boards a game on average this season. Taylor Farmer (16 ppg) is the team's top scoring threat, while Kindra Davis (6.8 rpg) is the top rebounder.
ABOUT TEXAS-TYLER
The Patriots (10-1, 8-0 ASC) sit alone atop the ASC standings. Texas-Tyler, which will play at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday, is the only team in the league to go unscathed to this point. The Patriots lead the conference in scoring defense (62.6 ppg), scoring margin (+18.8), field goal percentage (.448) and assists per game (16.4). She'Cara Humphrey ranks seventh in the league with an average of 16.5 points per outing, while Brittany King's 15.9 points per contest is good for ninth. King also leads the team and sits in 10th place among the ASC leaders with 7.5 rebounds per game.
