VICTORIA, British Columbia –
The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team closed out its fall break tour to Canada with a 65-63 victory over Camosun College on Thursday.

Isis Johnson paced the Tornados with 10 points off the bench. Da'Quayla Terry scored eight points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds, while Ashlyn Ward chipped in with seven points and five boards.

"We faced some obstacles today that we won't normally face in conference play," head coach Matt Wallis said. "We drove an hour, boarded a ferry for an hour and a half and then drove another 30 minutes. On top of all that, we had less than 24 hours between games."

Concordia Texas had a 40-18 lead in the second half, but the hosts had a furious comeback that tied the game at 63-63 in the final seconds.

However, with eight seconds to play, the Tornados received a game-winning layup from Nadine Fadelle with three seconds to play in regulation.

"We overcame a quality team," Wallis said. "It's always good to win on the road and I was happy with our execution in the final minute."

Concordia will travel to Seattle, Wash., before returning to Austin on Saturday.

The Tornados will resume practice on Monday, Oct. 20, and open the 2014-15 regular season on Nov. 18 at Texas Lutheran.
