AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team will open its home slate on Tuesday against former American Southwest Conference foe Texas Lutheran. The non-conference tilt is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.

WE MEET AGAIN
Concordia Texas (0-1) and Texas Lutheran (1-2) will meet for the second time this season. The Bulldogs captured a 67-59 victory in Concordia's season opener last Tuesday in Seguin. The Tornados shot only 26.4 percent from the field, while TLU posted 10 blocks and 60 rebounds. Celeste Laredo paced CTX with 11 points off the bench, while Isis Johnson registered eight points and eight rebounds.

ABOUT THE SERIES WITH TEXAS LUTHERAN
Tuesday's contest marks the 53rd meeting between the two clubs in the all-time series. Concordia holds a 27-25 advantage in the series, which dates back to the 1984-85 season. The Tornados have claimed six of the last eight matchups, but the Bulldogs have won the last two.

MORE ABOUT THE TORNADOS
CTX pulled down 43 rebounds in the loss to Texas Lutheran last Tuesday. Ally Terry led the way with 10 rebounds off the bench, including nine in the opening half. Isis Johnson added eight, while Da'Quayla Terry collected six.

WHAT'S RETURNING?
Concordia returns nine letter winners from last year's club. Wallis' club returns 44.4 percent of its scoring and 47.9 percent of its rebounds from a year ago.

HOME OPENERS
Concordia has won six of its last seven home openers. The Tornados have not lost a home opener since dropping an 87-68 decision to Texas-Tyler on Dec. 2, 2010. Last year, CTX topped Schreiner, 70-63, in its home-opening contest on Nov. 15, 2013.

LAST TIME OUT
Concordia dropped an exhbition contest at Division I foe Texas-Pan American, 72-31. The Tornados received six points apiece from Emily Cullers and Isis Johnson.

UP NEXT
The Tornados will host Trinity in a non-conference game on Monday, Dec. 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
