AUSTIN, Texas – With an eight-game winning streak in tow, the 16th-ranked Concordia University Texas baseball team will open a seven-game road trip this weekend at LeTourneau. The two teams will begin a three-game American Southwest Conference series at 7 p.m. on Friday and conclude it with a 1 p.m. doubleheader the following day.
The Tornados (17-2, 13-1 ASC), who sit atop the ASC standings, are coming off a 5-1 victory over No. 2 Trinity on Tuesday night. Concordia Texas boasts the league's top pitching staff with a 2.13 ERA. The Tornados' lineup also ranks third with a .324 batting average.
The YellowJackets (17-5, 11-4 ASC), who is in third place in the current conference standings, snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday with a win over Wiley. LeTourneau, which is 12-0 at home this spring, ranks third in the circuit with a 3.69 ERA and fourth with a .311 batting average.
