AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team will open its 2014 campaign on Friday at Dallas. The non-conference contest will kick off at 2 p.m. at Crusader Field in Irving.
Corey Miller, who is in his second season as the Tornados' head coach, welcomes back 12 letter winners from last year's squad, which posted a 3-10-1 overall record (2-6-1 ASC). Senior defender
Matt Ruhe and junior midfielder
Marshal Tucker lead the returners back to the field this season. Both Ruhe and Tucker earned third-team All-American Southwest Conference accolades a year ago.
In addition to the dozen returners, Miller added 21 newcomers to the squad.
Concordia Texas and Dallas will meet for the 10th time on Friday. The Crusaders hold a commanding 8-1 lead in the all-time series and have won five consecutive matchups, including a 1-0 victory in overtime on Sept. 1, 2012.
