BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas women's soccer team won 2-0 over Sul Ross State Thursday afternoon at St. Stephen's Episcopal School, earning their second victory in three matches and first of the season at home.
The back line defense held the Lobos to just one shot, which was saved by netminder Kila Hartom. Meanwhile, the aggressive Tornado attack fired 25 shots with nine falling on target.
Maddison Hoskins tallied the eventual game winner just 15 minutes into the first half. Skyler Larkin found the back of the net with about 20 minutes remaining in the contest to add some insurance. It was Larkin's first goal of her collegiate career. Saray Mondinzagon-Olivarez assisted both goals.
The shutout was the second of the season for the young Concordia squad and the first clean sheet victory. The last shutout was a 0-0 tie at Belhaven earlier in the season.
The Tornados hit the road to East Texas, first for a bout with LeTourneau on Oct. 23. They wrap up the final regular-season trip at East Texas Baptist the next day.
