BOX SCORE ABELINE, Texas -- Kaitlyn Ellis netted two goals to help the Concordia Texas women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over McMurry Friday afternoon in Abilene.

The War Hawks struck first when Hannah Way found the back of the net just nine minutes into the contest, but Ellis tied things up just four minutes later. The Tornados never looked back afterwards.

After a feed from Maddison Hoskins, Ellis scored after hitting the top of the crossbar. The ball bounced into the netting for Ellis' second goal of the season.

The teams went into the intermission tied 1-1.

Ellis would score the eventual game winner 11 minutes into the second half, finishing off a cross pass from Skylar Larkin.

Hoskins added an insurance goal in the closing minutes to give the Tornados a 3-1 advantage, scoring unassisted from 25 yards out.

The entire Concordia back line allowed just two McMurry shots in the match.

The Tornados remain in Abeline for a Saturday battle with Hardin-Simmons.
