Baseball team to shave heads to fight cancer

AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas baseball team has paired up with Vs. Cancer Foundation to raise money to support efforts in finding a cure for kids' cancer.

The Tornados and head coach Tommy Boggs will shave their heads on the field following the first game of a Feb. 27 doubleheader against Louisiana College at Tornado Field.

Concordia Texas will be working to raise funds which will be donated to support pediatric cancer patients at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund life-saving childhood cancer efforts. The organization was founded by former North Carolina baseball player Chase Jones, who was diagnosed with Stage IV brain cancer in 2006. Since beating cancer, Jones and his organization has raised money to help more than 81,000 children with cancer over the past two years.
