Men's Soccer Deals Shutout as Tornados Improve to 4-0

BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas men's soccer team imrpoved to 4-0 after posting a 4-0 victory over Schreiner Saturday night at Town and Country Park. With the victory, the Tornados set program records for both the best start and longest winning streak.

Alejandro Labastida put Concordia on the board just 10 minutes into the contest, converting on a nice feed from Marc Kouassi.

Later in the half, Isaiah Coombs would take advantage of a Mountaineer miscue and hit the twine on an empty-netter. Matthew Butler would score on a penalty kick to close out the opening stanza at 3-0.

Ronny Garza added the fourth tally about 15 minutes into the second half.

Nick Martin, Josh Artega and the entire defense combined to hold Schreiner to just one shot on goal in the combined shutout effort.

Next up, the Tornados hit the road to open conference play at Louisiana College Sept. 17.
