BOX SCORE PINEVILLE, La. -- The Concordia Texas men's soccer team continued its hot start Thursday evening as it edged Louisiana College 2-1 in the American Southwest Conference opener for both teams.
The Tornados (5-0, 1-0 ASC) needed to come from behind for the victory, but
Diego Outeiral was able to find the back of the net twice in the second half to help his team to victory.
The Wildcats (0-5, 0-1) got on the board with 30 minutes remaining in the first half, when Josh Randon put Louisiana College on top. The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Wildcats at the break, but the lead was short-lived.
Outeiral found the back of the net just three minutes into the second half, converting on a nice feed from
Marc Kouassi. Outeiral scored the eventual game winner eight minutes later after a pass from
Alejandro Labastida.
Concordia was able to hold Louisiana College to just four shots in the contest.
The Tornados complete the road trip on Saturday afternoon at Bellhaven in a non-conference showdown.
