BOX SCORE

ALPINE, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer teams earned a dramatic 3-2 victory at Sul Ross State on Saturday afternoon.

Kaycee Moore's game-winner in the 72nd minute sealed the Tornados' comeback, as Kila Hartom and the rest of the Concordia back line helped preserve the win late.

The Tornados found themselves trailing 2-0 early on. The Lobos scored in the eighth minute, when Lauren Ebbs finished off a well-placed goal kick. Just seven minutes later, SRSU stretched the lead to 2-0 as Ebbs fed teammate Hannah Medina for the score.

Down but not out, Madi Timmons put the Tornados on the board in the 28th minute. The score remained 2-1 Lobos at the break.

Kaitlyn Ellis got CTX even in the 71st minute, drilling home a feed from Victoria Herrera.

The Tornados were aggressive from wire-to-wire, but particularly in the second half, taking 13 of their 18 shots on goal in the later period alone.

Hartom made 12 saves, with seven coming in the final stanza.

CTX improves to 6-4-1 overall and 4-3 in ASC play. The squad returns home for a Friday night tilt against East Texas Baptist. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at St. Stephen's.
