BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team got a 1-0 victory over East Texas Baptist Friday evening at St. Stephen's.
Victoria Herrara scored the lone goal of the contest in the 67th minute, converting a penalty kick after teammate Madi Timmons drew a foul in the box.
The Tornados had a good chance to score in the first half, getting two quick shots but both were stopped by ETBU keeper Karrigan Falber.
Shelby Franco earned her third shutout win of the season, making one save on the only shot she faced.
With the win, Concordia assured itself a spot in the American Southwest Conference Tournament. It will be the eight straight postseason appearance for the Tornados.
