BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback against No. 21 Hardin-Simmons Friday night at St. Stephen's.
The Cowgirls got on the board early, with Kendell Groom scoring off a deflected shot in the first minute. They would add another goal in the 24th minute, when Kami Jones converted on a cross.
The Tornados would put a charge on the net, putting four shots toward the goal, but HSU keeper Casey Carrillo was there for the stop.
Unfortunately, a CTX defender redirected a clear into the back of her own net to make it 3-0 HSU in the 31st.
HSU added a fourth goal early on in the second half, but the Tornado defense limited the Cowgirl attack as the half wore on.
The Tornados return to St. Stephen's for a 5 p.m. tilt against McMurry.
