BOX SCORE RICHARDSON, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's basketball team suffered a 69-55 setback against UT Dallas at the UTD Activity Center Wednesday night.
The Tornados (5-2, 0-2 ASC) struggled from the field, shooting just 32.1 percent from the perimeter during the contest. Meanwhile, the Comets (4-2, 2-0) started hot and used a 28-9 first quarter push to set the tone. For the game, UTD hit shots at a 41 percent clip from the field.
Concordia trailed 47-25 at the half. UTD would continue but the Tornados ended the game on a strong note, outscoring the Comets 18-5 in the final period.
Emily Cullers led the CTX output with 19 points. Brenisha Payne paced the bench with 11 points and Jaela Dejean tallied 10 points.
The Comets' Micaela Gonzalez led all scores with 21 points.
Concordia returns home for a three-game set starting Sunday against Rust. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. at the CTX Fieldhouse.
