BOX SCORE BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Isis Johnson recorded her third consecutive double-double with a game-high 28 points and 14 rebounds, but it wouldn't be enough as the Concordia Texas women's basketball team fell 67-65 at Howard Payne Thursday evening.

Kayla Strobel nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to bring CTX (11-11. 3-9 ASC) within two. She would end the contest with 17 points. Jaela Dejean added 12 to help the Tornado effort. Brenisha Payne grabbed 12 boards.

Concordia led by 13 with just under three minutes left in the first quarter. HPU came all the way back to make it a 37-35 contest in favor of the Tornados at the intermission. 

The Lady Jackets held an eight-point advantage with 39 seconds left in regulation, but Concordia closed out the game on a 6-0 run.

Danyel Bradley scored 27 points for the Lady Jackets (15-8, 9-3) and Sarahi Castillo tallied seven blocks.

The Tornados return to action Saturday at Sul Ross State. Tip-off is at 1 p.m.
