BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas baseball team fell to Pomona-Pitzer 8-3 Saturday afternoon at Tornado Field.

The Tornados (1-2) held a 2-0 lead after three innings. Race Mellman came across in the first on a Sagehen (4-0) error in the second then Colton Poindexter tripled and scored CTX's second run in the third on an RBI single from Tyler Johnson.

Pomona answered with two of their own in the top of the fourth. Then, the Sagehens opened the floodgates with a four-run seventh to make it a 6-2 contest. P-P garnered a pair of insurance runs in both the eighth and ninth.

Concordia was able to get one run back in the bottom of the ninth on Mellman's RBI fielder's choice.

The Tornados return to action tomorrow at 11 a.m. against Whitworth.
