BOX SCORE PINEVILLE, La. -- The Concordia Texas baseball team earned its first three-game sweep of the 2016 campaign with a 10-4 win over Louisiana College Friday afternoon.

Eight of those 10 runs came in the third inning and were all unearned as the Tornados sent 11 to the plate in the frame. Michael Evan and Caleb Maddox both had two-run hits in the inning. Maddox would go on to finish the contest with a team-high three RBI.

Jake Valadez was masterful in six innings of relief, allowing just one unearned run on four hits. He struck out 14 of 22 batters faced in the winning effort.

The Tornados return home April 1 to open a three-game set against UT Dallas. First pitch is at 7 p.m. at Tornado Field.
