BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas – In their first-ever meeting, the Concordia Texas baseball team downed Baldwin Wallace 11-6 Monday night at Tornado Field, kicking off an eight-game home stand.

The Tornados (7-7) scored five of their 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth. Bret Leiferman and Jake Valadez both had two-RBI hits in the inning. Alex Britz also had an RBI knock.

It remained a 7-3 contest until the top of the sixth, when the Yellow Jackets blasted back-to-back solo homers.

The Tornados got one back on Britz' RBI double in the sixth. They would get two more on a pinch-hit two-run double from Garret Benyo.

On the mound, Ty Bratton earned the win. Matthew Brown was excellent in his season debut, going four innings with four strikeouts.

Concordia returns to action Friday at 7 p.m. against UT Tyler, starting a three-game ASC set.
