With the wins and an earlier Hardin-Simmons loss, the Tornados assured themselves at least two more home games as they will host at least a portion of the ASC Baseball Championship series.
GAME ONE – Concordia 9, UMHB 0
The Tornados opened the series with a commanding 9-0 victory over the Cru.
Concordia hammered out 11 hits with Connor Bertsch and Michael Evan both tallying two hits. Bertsch doubled and also opened up the scoring with a two-run blast in the top of the first.
The guests would go on to add five more runs in the third. Evan's RBI double helped spark the big inning.

Jake Valadez belted a solo homer in the top of the 12th inning to seal a dramatic comeback victory for the Tornados.
Justin Traxler earned the win in relief, striking out seven over four innings of three-hit ball.

CTX first chipped away at the five-run gap with two runs in the top of the sixth on Caleb Maddox's RBI double.
Concordia would later go on to tie the contest with three runs in the top of the ninth. Tyler Johnson's pinch-hit two-run double was the game-tying knock.
UMHB had runners on in the 10th, 11th and 12th innings but Traxler was able to avoid trouble each time.
