Nash Cole's shot was just above the crossbar as the Concordia Texas men's soccer were unable to force overtime, losing 1-0 to Ozarks in the quarterfinals of the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Thursday.
The Tornados recorded 18 shots as a team, including four from
Alejandro Labastida, but were unable to find the back of the net. Manuel Osuna, in his first start of the season, came up with three saves and held the Eagles to the lone goal.
After a scoreless first half between the teams, UO would open the second half with the first goal of the game in the 50
th minute to go up 1-0. The Tornados would battle back though, tallying four corner kicks in the second half alone.
The Eagles would receive a yellow card after a foul just outside the box, Labastida would take the free kick, just missing above the crossbar. In a final effort to send the game to overtime, Cole's shot from outside the box missed high ending the season for CTX.
The Tornados reached the ASC Tournament for the third straight year and first under head coach
Nick Mims. The team will say goodbye to six seniors, including
Alejandro Labastida, who finishes his career as the program leader in goals scored with 19.
