GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Concordia Baseball team, playing in game one of a weekend round-robin, fell to UT Dallas 15-3 on Friday afternoon.

Justin Traxler was on the mound for his second start of the season, going four plus innings, giving up only six hits and struck out four batters, but was tagged with seven runs.
After three innings, CTX and the Comets were tied at 1-1 after
Caleb Maddox's RBI single brought home
Cole Angelle from second in the bottom half of the third inning. Maddox went 2-5 from the plate with a run and RBI.
UTD would blow open the game though after a six-run fifth inning. The Tornados would get a run back in the bottom half of the inning, but were unable to rally after back to back three-run innings by the Comets.
Jake Valadez and
Michael Evan both had two hits in the game, as the team had 10 total hits in the game.
Trey Toney and
Sean Mathews each pitched a scoreless inning to close out the game for CTX.
The Tornados return to the field Saturday night at 6 p.m. against University of Dallas.
