AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Men's Tennis hosted Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Monday, falling 7-2 in the match at Austin Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Tornados won one of the three matches.
Leo Marchesi and
Holt Fields defeated Zach Janssen and Danny Schoen in a thrilling match at line two. At line three,
Adrian Montes and
Victor Escalon were up a break late, but lost the lead and the match to Renan Barros and Conrad Felten.
CTX, in the singles matches, won at line one as
Holt Fields defeated Mike Mauthe in three sets. Marchesi at line three, split the first two sets, but falter in the final set against
Schoen. Down 4-2, the Tornados were unable to stage a rally as UWEC took the match.
CTX now heads on a two game road trip, opening up conference play against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday at 2 p.m. before facing McMurry.
