GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Concordia Men's Tennis team faced-off at Southwestern on Wednesday afternoon, losing 9-0.
Leo Marchesi and
Holt Fields teamed up as the No. 1 doubles team, but were unable to mount a late rally, losing 8-5. At the No. 2 doubles,
Adrian Montes and
Zach Haynie fell to the Pirates 8-2, while
Micah Austin and
Victor Escalon lost at line three 8-4.
In the singles matches, the Tornados all fell in straight sets. Fields played at line one, losing 6-3, 6-3. Marchesi battled in the first set at line two, but dropped it 7-5, and lost in the second set 6-0. Montes, playing at line three, lost 6-0, 6-1.
CTX returns to the courts on March 16 against Central College at 2 p.m. at Austin Tennis Center.
