AUSTIN, Texas – After winning both tiebreakers in the doubles matches, the Concordia Texas men's tennis team cruised to their second straight win, defeating Ozarks 8-1 on Saturday.
The pairing of
Adam Compton and
Clayton Hernandez, won the line two tiebreaker 7-4 to take the match 8-7. At line three, Isaac Glyn and Victor Escalon followed suit winning the 7-4 as well and win the match 8-6, giving the Tornados a 3-0 lead heading into the singles matches.
In the singles,
Hoanh Le fell behind a set, but rallied to win the next two sets, 6-3, 10-8 for a line one win. Compton would wrap up line two in straight sets, as did
Micah Austin, who won a close first set 6-4.
Glynn and Escalon would close out the match for CTX, winning at lines five and six respectively, giving the Tornados the 8-1 win.
Up next, CTX will go to Georgetown, Texas, for a non-conference matchup with Southwestern at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, going for their third win in a row.
