SEGUIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team would not drop a match on their way to a 9-0 sweep of Texas Lutheran on Saturday, their third straight win of the year.
In the doubles matches, the Tornados would handle the Bulldogs easily, winning all three matches as they headed into the singles.
At line three, Victor Escalon and
Isaac Glynn battled it out, going to a tiebreaker, winning it 7-0 to take the match.
Concordia Texas would continue to pick up wins in the singles matches.
Hoanh Le and
Adam Compton would win in straight sets at line one and two respectively.
Micah Austin earned a hard fought win at line three, battling from a set down to take the second set 7-5 and win the decisive third set 10-7.
Clayton Hernandez and Victor Escalon would win in straight sets at line four and six respectively to give the Tornados an 8-0 lead.
Isaac Glynn wrapped up the team match for CTX, taking a three-set win at line five, picking a 10-4 decision in the final set.
The Tornados will now turn their attention to Southwestern, taking on the Pirates in a rescheduled match on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas.
