AUSTIN, Texas –
Hoanh Le battled back from triple match point as the Concordia Texas men's tennis team won five of their singles matches in a 7-2 victory over LeTourneau on Friday.
Le, at line one singles, would recover from triple match point in the third set to complete the comeback of a three-set thriller, taking it 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Adam Compton would also come back from a set down in his match at line two, winning the final two sets 7-5, 6-4 for another win for the Tornados.
Clayton Hernandez and Victor Escalon would pick up wins in straight sets at line four and five respectively.
Isaac Glynn, meanwhile, would be up 4-1 in the second set, before the Yellow Jackets' player retired, giving Glynn the win at line six.
In the doubles matches, Le and
Micah Austin would fall at line one 8-5. Hernandez and Compton would pick up an 8-6 win at line two, while Escalon and Glynn would take care of LETU at line three, 8-3, giving CTX a 2-1 advantage going into singles.
The Tornados will have a break before they return to the courts on March 21 to host Wisconsin Eau-Claire at 12 p.m. at River Place Country Club.
