AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team won their second match in a row as they rolled past Howard Payne 8-1 on Saturday at River Place Country Club.
The Tornados would go up 3-0 quickly after the double matches, as
Hoanh Le and
Micah Austin would break the Yellow Jackets once at line one to earn an 8-6 win. Issac Glynn and
Victor Escalon would take an 8-3 win at line two, while
Adam Compton and Noah Scott won 8-4 at line three.
In the singles matches, CTX would continue to control the match. The Tornados would only drop one singles match, while winning the rest of the matches in straight sets as they went on to win the team match 8-1 over Howard Payne for their second win in a row.
On Thursday, the team earned their first-ever regional ranking in program history, coming in at No. 18 in the West Region, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association D-III Collegiate Tennis rankings.
