AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team, going for their third straight win, would fall to UT Dallas 9-0 in their home finale on Sunday at River Place Country Club.
The Tornados would fall behind 3-0 after the doubles matches, as
Adam Compton and
Clayton Hernandez were broken only once but unable to rally, falling at line two 8-6.
In the singles matches, CTX would trail 6-0 after coming up short at lines 3-5.
Hoanh Le, playing at line one, would come back from a set down to force a third set, but was unable to complete the comeback, losing 7-4 in the tiebreaker.
Compton would also go to three sets, but was unable to come away with a win, dropping a 10-5 decision in the super tiebreaker, while
Victor Escalon fell at line six, 6-4, 7-5, as the Tornados' win streak was snapped at two.
Up next, CTX will go to Belton, Texas to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in a rescheduled match that was originally canceled due to rain.
