BELTON, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team's going for their third win in four matches would have their comeback bid would fall short, dropping a 5-4 decision to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday.
The Tornados would have to battle back, after falling behind 2-0 in the doubles matches.
Adam Compton and
Micah Austin would grab a win at line two, taking it 8-4, and cut it to 2-1.
In the singles matches, CTX would trail 4-1 and begin their comeback, as
Victor Escalon, playing at line five, would defeat the Cru's Robert Galligan 6-2, 6-1.
Hoanh Le and Compton would both win three-set thrillers at line one and two respectively, but it was not enough as the Tornados suffered heartbreaking 5-4 loss.
Concordia Texas continues its road trip, traveling to Abilene, Texas to take on Hardin-Simmons on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by a matchup against McMurry on Saturday.
