Adam Compton would pick up two wins, but it was not enough as the Concordia Texas men's tennis team fell to Hardin-Simmons 6-3 on Friday.
Compton, teaming up with
Hoanh Le, would battle against the Cowboys at line one, winning the tiebreaker 7-5 and the Tornados trailed 2-1 at the conclusion of the doubles matches.
In singles, Compton would cruise to a straight set victory at line two, defeating HSU's Griffin Weinkam 6-1, 6-2.
Victor Escalon, meanwhile, would need three sets to defeat Keenan Nash, winning the third set 6-3.
Concordia Texas was unable to close the deficit, falling to the Cowboys in the team match, 6-3.
The Tornados will return to the courts on Saturday in Abilene, Texas when they take on McMurry at 10 a.m. from the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
