RICHARDSON, Texas – After winning the American Southwest Conference West Division crown for the first time in school history, the Concordia Texas men's tennis team continued their historic season by having a program record six different players earn All-ASC accolades, the league announced Monday.

Evan Pena Jr. and Adam Compton highlighted the honors as they were both named to the All-Conference teams consisting of players from both the West and East Divisions.

Additionally, second year head coach Luke Helm was named ASC West Division coach of the year after leading CTX to their first ever conference championship match.

Pena Jr., a freshman out of Rio Grande City, Texas, was the flight five singles all-conference honoree after finishing the year 13-2 in singles play and won his final seven matches on the year.

Compton, meanwhile, joined his teammate Pena Jr. on the all-conference team thanks to their stellar combined performance on line three doubles all season. The two combined to go 10-1 in doubles play this season.

Both Pena Jr. and Compton also were named to the All-ASC West Division First Team for their prowess in doubles matches this season.

The Tornados dominated the All-ASC West Division Second Team with Joshua Bode, Hoanh Le, Esteban Arredondo, Compton and Jorge Garcia all earning the honor.

Bode, a freshman from Austin, Texas, was stellar on line one for the Tornados all season. He finished the season with a 10-2 record in singles play, including a pair of wins over first team All-Conference honoree Alex Hunt of Hardin-Simmons.

Le, a senior out of Phan Thiet, Vietnam, was 9-5 in singles play on the year while playing most of the season on line two. The 2018 ASC Newcomer of the Year closed the season winning five of his final six matches.

Playing on line three the majority of the season, Arredondo closed the year with a 9-5 record in singles matches, winning all nine matches in straight sets. The freshman from The Woodlands, Texas, won six of his last eight matches this season.

The 2018 ASC Freshman of the Year Adam Compton was the flight four selection on the ASC West Division Second Team after going 8-6 on the year. Compton, a sophomore from Pflugerville, Texas, closed the season 7-3 in his final 10 matches.

Garcia, a freshman out of Harlingen, Texas, finished the year 8-4 on line six singles. He started the season by winning four of his first five matchups on the court.

The Tornados were tied with UT Dallas for the most players to grab ASC West Division honors.

With just two seniors on the roster, CTX will return five of the six players who nabbed all-ASC honors to the team for the 2019-2020 season.
