Howell named to fourth-straight PING All-Region Team

NORMAN, Okla. – Seger Howell was named to the Division III PING All-Region Team for the fourth time in his career as the Golf Coaches Association of America announced its all-region teams on Tuesday.

Howell, who was named the American Southwest Conference Golfer of the Year for the second straight season, was one of 15 golfers selected to the PING All-Region West Team.

It the fourth consecutive year Howell has earned all-region honors, becoming the first Tornado in program history to accomplish the feat.

He won two individual tournament titles in his senior season, extending his school record to 13 for his career. At the ASC Championships, the Live Oak, Texas native finished as the runner-up, aiding CTX to its second-ever conference championship and fourth straight NCAA Championships appearance.

Howell and the Tornados currently sit in second after the first round of the NCAA Championships, one shot back of the lead, and tee off on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. from Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky., seeking to make the cut for the second time in program history.
