AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia Texas men's and women's tennis Head Coach Luke Helm announced that Marie-Alexandre Leduc would be joining the tennis coaching staff as a graduate assistant on Friday.

Leduc comes to Concordia Texas from Clemson University, where she was a three-year letterman for the women's tennis program and earned her bachelor's degree in 2019.

Helm is ecstatic to bring an accomplished tennis player aboard his coaching staff.

"It's hard to overstate the importance of our graduate assistants to our program over the last four years," Helm said. "To be able to add a player and coach of Marie's caliber is truly sensational for us, and it continues our run of good fortune in finding immensely qualified coaches who bring an incredible skillset to our program. From her incredible junior career as a member of the Canadian Junior Davis Cup team, to her Division I ITA Fall National Championship, and of course her world ranking, her on-court abilities need no exaggeration. But her year teaching full-time has prepared her well to step in to a college coaching role that I know she's thrilled to take on."

Leduc brings a wealth of experience and success to the Tornados' programs, showcasing dominance at nearly every level of her tennis career.

Before arriving to Clemson, Leduc reached as high as 413th in doubles by the International Tennis Federation. She was a two-time Canadian National Champion in singles, four-time doubles champion and participated in the Junior Fed Cup. Alongside Ayan Broomfield, a future NCAA DI doubles champion, the pair won an ITF doubles tournament in Petit-Bourg, France.

During her time on the court for the Tigers, Leduc continued her winning ways, accumulating a career record of 54-37 in singles and 72-29 in doubles.

She reached as high as No. 1 in doubles and No. 14 in singles in the NCAA's Division I tennis rankings, reaching the NCAA Tournament twice and won the Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall Doubles Championship in her senior year.

Leduc accumulated multiple awards, including being a three-time Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team selection as well as being named to the 2019 ITA All-Star team.

In addition to her success on the court, Leduc also excelled as a student during her time at Clemson. She earned All-ACC academic honors in back-to-back years, and was an ITA Scholar Athlete in 2019. She also graduated from the Tiger Leadership Program and served as a member of the university's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

In her post-playing career, Leduc coached tennis at the Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, New York, where she orchestrated drills and workouts for her clients at the club as well as organizing her own coaching and event schedule.

Helm has already seen the asset Leduc will be for the program.

"In her short time with us, she's already become indispensable to the coaching staff, and we're all excited – coaches and players, alike – to get out on court together and get back to doing what we all love," Helm said.
