BOX SCORE CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Concordia Texas women's soccer team earned their fifth win a row with a 4-1 victory of the University of the Ozarks. Forward Alycia Buenaventura netted two goals to help lead the scoring charge inside Hurie Soccer Field on Thursday.

Buenaventura is now the ASC's leader in goals with eight so far on the season. Fellow forward Kallie Krenz is currently second in the conference, as she also found the back of the net for Concordia.

Senior defender Sammy Gillespie scored her first collegiate goal to cap off the scoring for the Tornados. Kaelyn Riley, Falynn Pyterek, Marley Hennig and Marissa Funk all notched assists for CTX.

The Tornados were the aggessors for the majority of the match offensively as they more than tripled their opponents in shot attempts (17-5) and corner kicks (6-2). Their defense remained stout as well, only allowing two shots on goal.

Concordia Texas came out on fire as Riley launched a beautiful lob pass to Krenz who outran the defender for a goal in the third minute. Just a few minutes later, Pyterek connected with Buenaventura on a free-kick into the box where the latter headed the ball into the goal.

In the 14th minute, Marley Henning connected with Buenaventura to give the Tornados a 3-0 advantage. With just over seven minutes before half, Funk used a free kick to find Gillespie on the opposite side to extend their lead to 4-0 going into the break.

The Ozarks were able to score midway through the first half for the final score of the match.

Concordia Texas will next travel to Richardson, Texas to take on UT-Dallas for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
