AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas baseball team hosted Texas Lutheran for a midweek contest, falling 10-2 on Tuesday.

The Tornados were unable to string together hits, plating two runs on eight base knocks, and TLU employed the long ball, scoring eight runs on homers in the game.

EJ Sanchez and Aaron Gomez picked up an RBI each, and Shawn Huber led the team with two hits in the game.

Texas Lutheran opened the scoring in the first inning, blasting a three-run homer to take a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs tacked on more runs in the second inning, pushing the lead to 5-0 with a two-RBI double, and plated another pair in the third with a two-run homer. After three innings, the Tornados trailed 7-0.

The Tornados were on the board in the fourth as EJ Sanchez legged out an infield single, driving in Dalton Watts to bring the score to 7-1.

In the fifth inning, Concordia Texas pushed another run across. Jayden Hernandez led off the inning with a single and eventually came around to score as Aaron Gomez poked an RBI single through the left side. Heading into the sixth inning, the Tornados trailed 7-2.

The seventh inning saw TLU add some additional insurance, plating three runs with their third homer of the night to extend the lead to 10-2.

The Tornados loaded the bases in the eighth as Kalen Moreno worked a walk, Ian Perez laced a single up the middle, and Riley Becker followed with a walk. However, CTX was unable to plate a run.
