Elizabeth Jones posted a career-high against Pomona-Pitzer College on Saturday. The Tornados (0-1-1) fell to the Sagehens (2-0-0) by a score of 4-0 at the Pomona-Pitzer Soccer Field.
The Sagehens were aggressive offensively early on; which resulted in three shot attempts and a goal seven minutes into the match. Both teams held steady for next 25 minutes until Pomona-Pitzer claimed a 2-0 advantage right before halftime.
The Tornados had an opportunity to cut the deficit in half, but a shot by
Falynn Pyterek sailed high in the 55th minute. Five minutes later,
Alycia Buenaventura fired a shot on target that was saved. As action progressed, the Sagehens added two more goals en route to the win.
The Tornados will stay in the Golden State where they will face California Lutheran for a Labor Day matchup at 10AM.
