BOX SCORE ABILENE, Texas- The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team battled against McMurry for a 0-0 draw in a Thursday night matchup. Junior goalkeeper Lora Tresco secured her second straight clean sheet for the Tornados andtallied eight saves at Wilford Moore Field on Thursday night.
In the evenly offensive faceoff, CTX fired 11 total shots compared to the War Hawks' 14 shots.
To open the first half, the Tornadoes fired three shots with determination. Tresco, the CTX goalie, made four stops in the opening frame to maintain the score at zero points at the break.
Concordia took control offensively for most of the second half out shooting McMurry six to four. In the 72nd minute Madelynn Murphy fired in a shot towards the bottom left but saved by MCM goalkeeper.
Junior central defender Kaelyn Riley sent a shot into the bottom right corner of the net during the final four minutes of play, but McMurry goaltender saved it.
Freshman midfielder Audrey Frost almost made the game-winning shot in the 88th minute with a booming shot that landed in the arms of the goalkeeper to end the game in a 0-0 standoff.
The Tornados will continue road play in Abilene, Texas for a back-to-back conference matchup against Hardin-Simmons University on Oct. 21 at 5 PM, see you then!
