BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team finished the Concordia Classic with a record of 3-1. A 12-6 decision in a rematch against George Fox University.
Zach Seigrist cranked a two-run shot over the chain-linked fence inside Gardner-Boggs Field on Sunday.
The Bruins earned a run in the top of the first. The Tornados immediately responded with a standup double to score
Aaron Gomez. With the bases loaded later in the inning,
Robert Villa singled through the left side to bring home
Mason Vasquez and give CTX at 2-1 lead. George Fox tacked on three runs on one hit in the top of the second to reclaim the lead at 4-2.
CTX kicked off the bottom of the third with back-to-back stand up doubles by Vasquez and
Kalen Clark.
Michael Fisk followed that up with a sac fly to score Vasquez and tie the game at 4-all. George Fox counter punched with another three-run inning in the top of the fourth.
The Bruins added four runs in the top of the seventh, but Seigrist blasted a homer to make it a 11-6 game in the bottom of the eighth. George Fox added one more run in the top of the ninth to take the win in the final game of the Concordia Classic.
