AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia baseball team posted a furious ninth inning rally that fell just short in a 5-4 decision in game three against LeTourneau. Julian Swift and Chris Morrow posted three hits apiece, while David Matthews struck out a career-high seven batters inside Gardner-Boggs Field on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets posted three runs in the third and one more in the fourth for the early lead. CTX cut into the deficit when a Morrow RBI single brought home Swift in the bottom of the fifth. LETU responded with a run in the next half inning to make it a 5-1 game. 

Threatening to reduce the Letourneau's lead, Concordia had two runners in scoring position but were unable to capitalize in the bottom of the eighth inning. Following a RBI-single by Swift to make it 5-2 in the final inning, Shawn Huber and Morrow both posted RBI-singles for a 5-4 score with one out left in the final inning. CTX then loaded the bases with only one out, but the Yellowjackets held on and recorded the last two outs for the win.

Concrodia Texas will next host Southwestern for a single game this Tuesday, March 21st at 6 p.m.
