AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team completed a sweep with a pair of wins over Hardin-Simmons University by a score of 8-3 and x. Sophomore southpaw Dakota Palmer pitched a two-hit masterpiece in game one, while the Tornados posted a 14-4, run-rule win in game two at Hunter Field on Saturday.
GAME ONE: W, 8-3 (Seven Innings)
The Tornados scored the first eight runs of game one. RBI singles by Matthew Armes, Jess Lollar and Aaron Gomez resulted in four runs in the top of the second inning.
Julian Swift continued his hot hitting with a base hit to center to score Armes, while a two-RBI single to right field by Chris Morrow scored Gomez and Swift to up the advantage to 7-0 in the fourth. They would tally their final run in the fifth inning when Robert Villa sprinted home following a wild pitch.
Hardin-Simmons did not get their second hit of the game until the final inning following an error by the Tornados. They would load the bases and cross three across the plate, before CTX ended the game on a double play for the 8-3 victory.

GAME TWO: W, 14-4 (Seven Innings)
CTX jumped out to a 6-0 in the second inning that was highlighted with a two-RBI single by Morrow. Gomez would make it 8-0 after scoring on a wild pitch in the third.
The Cowboys made up some ground by scoring four in the bottom of the third as neither team would make much more noise offensively in the fourth and fifth.
Morrow opened the flood gates in the sixth when he hammed a two-run homer to right field, and CTX would post five more runs (three unearned) in the frame en route to the run-rule victory.
