AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team exploded for a 16-0 win in game one and 12-2 win in game two to complete the series sweep over McMurry University. Kalen Clark hammered his first homerun of the season, while Zach Seigrist and Shawn Huber both posted inside-the-park homeruns in game the 16-0 game one win. Seigrist's homerun was the Tornados' first inside-the-park homerun since Race Mellman in 2017. The 16 runs in game one was a season-high inside Gardner-Boggs Field on Saturday.
GAME ONE: W, 16-0
Concordia poured in three runs and three hits in the opening frame, as Chris Morrow recorded a RBI-single and Clark posted his two-run homer over the Metal Monster in left. Seigrist added one more run in the second when his hit to centerfield reached the warning track for his homerun.
The hit parade continued in the bottom of the third when the Tornados loaded the bases, and Matthew Armes knocked a two-RBI single to score Clark and Morrow. The bases would load up again where Seigrist, Julian Swift and Morrow scored Huber, Armes for an 8-0 lead.
Another two runs off the 10-run frame came when an error by the first baseman resulted in Aaron Gomez and Seigrist crossing the plate. Huber then added his three-run inside-the-park for a 14-0 lead entering the fourth.
Loading the bases again in the bottom of the sixth, Concordia tallied the final two runs of game one when Gomez roped a two-RBI double down the left line for a 16-0 victory.

GAME TWO: W, 12-2
The Warhawks scored their first run of the afternoon in the top of the first, but CTX loaded the bases in the bottom of the frame. Clark and Armes would earn a RBI-walks to give Concordia a 2-1 lead. McMurry loaded the bases in the top of the second, but the Tornados kept them at bay.
Swift cranked a RBI double to score Seigrist, while Morrow made it a 4-1 game when he scored Swift. The Tornados then loaded bases once again, and made it an 8-1 score in the second inning.
Neither team had much going offensively through the next three innings, before the Warhawks made it 8-2 with a run in the top of the sixth. The Tornados matched them in the frame when a Clark groundout-RBI scored Gomez.
Seigrist blasted a RBI-double off the wall to centerfield as he scored Armes to make the score 10-2. Walking the series off with a sweep, Morrow singled through the right side to round the final two runs of the 2023 home campaign.

Concordia Texas will now head to Brownwood, Texas for the final series of the regular season. Game one will be held on Friday, April 28 at 2 p.m.
