AUSTIN, Texas - In the final game of night one of the Tommy Boggs Classic, the Concordia Texas Tornados were defeated by a score of 3-2 against Schreiner University. Sophomore leadoff hitter Julian Swift connected for three hits, while Mason Bradenberger & Otto Franz tallied four strikeouts apiece inside Gardner-Boggs Field. 

The Tornados started this game similar to how they ended the last game as a sacrifice bunt by Mason Vasquez scored Aaron Gomez in the first inning. They then notched another score in the bottom of the second with another sacrifice bunt by Zach Seigrist to bring Brandon Goynes home.

A homer by Schreiner made it a 2-1 score in the top of the third. They then scored in the following inning to tie the game up at 2-apiece. The Mountaineers claimed their first lead of the game with a run in the top of the seventh, and this would prove to be the game-winner as both teams stiffened with stellar performances on defense.

Concordia Texas will be right back in action tomorrow for a pair of games against George Fox at 11am & Schreiner at 6pm.
