AUSTIN, Texas - In day two of the Tommy Boggs Classic, the Concordia Texas Tornados defeated George Fox University in a 2-1 walk-off victory and 4-0 shutout over Schreiner University. Landon Hyle tallied the walk-off hit against George Fox, while their win over Schreiner was the first shutout against a non-conference opponent at home since 2016 inside Gardner-Boggs Field.
GAME ONE: W, 2-1 vs. George Fox
With runners on the corners, George Fox sent the runner on first and their man on third scored on the throw in the top of the second. For the next six innings, both teams were lights out on the mound.
The Tornados only allowed four hits in the game, and were down to their final three outs. Julian Swift tied the game up & Aaron Gomez advanced to third on a past ball. With the winning run on third, Hyle came up clutch and singled through the left side for the win.

GAME TWO: W, 4-2 vs. Schreiner
Both teams loaded the bases with two outs, but neither was able to capitalize in the first frame. The Tornados got on the scoreboard first when Morrow and Jake Townsend smacked a pair RBI-doubles for a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
CTX added another run for a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth when Morrow singled to right field for his second RBI of the game. The Tornados added insurance for a 4-0 lead in their final at bat when a sacrifice bunt by Zach Seigrist scored Efren Sanchez Jr. en route to the victory.
