AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team fell 6-4 in the series finale with fifth-ranked East Texas Baptist University. Chris Morrow notched a season-high four RBIs (two hits) at Gardner-Boggs Field on Saturday.
A two-out single to left field by Morrow scored Efren Sanchez Jr. to give Concordia the early 1-0 lead after the first frame. ETBU took the lead in the top of the third with a pair of runs.
After a scoreless fourth inning, the Tigers converted on a two-out error & posted another three runs for a 5-1 lead. Looking to respond, Sanchez Jr. lofted a leadoff double to give the Tornados some momentum. Morrow then notched his second RBI of the day with a fielder's choice to score Sanchez again.Â
The Tigers made it a 6-2 game with a run in the eighth, but Concordia made it a 6-4 game when Morrow cranked a two-RBI double to left field to send Julian Swift & Colby Christian home. This would be the tally of the game as ETBU would hold on for the victory.
