DALLAS, Texas - On the heels of collecting their second consecutive American Southwest Conference Tournament title, the Concordia Texas men's tennis team made history when the ASC All-Conference awards were announced. The Tornados swept All-ASC First Team and All-ASC West Division First Team awards for the first time in program history.
Joshua Bode was deemed the ASC West MVP for the second straight year, while
Steven Scholz was named the ASC West Freshman of the Year. Graduate senior
Esteban Arredondo received the honor of ASC West Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year, and head coach
Jeff Bramlett was also named the ASC West Coach of the Year; the fifth time in his career to earn the honor (second time as the Concordia Texas head coach).
Bode, the school's all-time wins leader, won the West Division Most Valuable Player after posting a 17-2 record in singles and 14-6 record in doubles for the Tornados. Bode was also the Most Valuable Player on the All-Tournament Team for the 2024 ASC Men's Tennis title winners. Currently ranked 23rd in the nation, Bode was selected to competed in the NCAA Division III Singles National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri May 25-28.Â
Scholz was exceptional in his debut. The freshman went 14-3 overall, and an unblemished 7-0 on flight three where he was named All-ASC First Team. He went 5-1 in doubles action, and captured the winning set in the ASC Championship match to collect ASC All-Tournament honors.
This marks the second season in a row the Tornados won the ASC Freshman of the Year award as
Daniel Beckles won the award last season. Beckles was also a multi-award winner this season as he posted a 6-4 flight five record and a 4-4 flight three record alongside doubles partner
Joeri Bregman to be named to the All-ASC First Team.Â
Arredondo was tabbed the ASC West Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for his good spirit and exuberance for the game. He also posted a 4-1 flight six record for All-ASC First Team honors. He and freshman
Kishan Kesten went 8-5 on line two doubles to earn All-ASC First Team honors as well. Kersten was also a consistent force on flight four with a 10-2 record as he earned the All-ASC Flight Four nod.Â

Adrian Munguia, who was named to the All-ASC Team in singles and doubles action. Munguia and Bode went 14-6 this season in flight one doubles. He then dominated flight two with a record of 6-1 to help the Tornados to another 15+ win season.
