BOX SCORE ABILENE, Texas - In their SCAC debut, the Concordia Texas men's soccer team left no doubt in a 6-1 victory over McMurry University. Six different Tornados scored &
Gustavo Hernandez tallied two assists at Gustafson Field on Saturday. Concordia's five first half goals was their most in a half since September 1st, 2022.
The Tornados got started early with goals by
Theo Givens &
Antonio Rios in the first 10 minutes. They notched another goal in the 21st when
Luis Pineda fed
Alejandro Rojas who then fired a bomb outside the box.
The fourth & fifth goals came in the 32nd minute when Hernandez fed
Ronaldo Guzman on a give & go and
Bryan Rios dribbled to the middle of the field and powered another outside-the-box shot.
The Warhawks scored their lone goal of the match in the 40th as Concordia led 5-1 heading into the half. Keeping up the pressure, another assist from Hernandez connected with
Jonathan De La Torre who hammered the final goal of the afternoon in the 61st.
Concordia Texas will next return home to host Schreiner next Friday, October 4th at 5pm.
