BOX SCORE VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team earned their first win of the season in a 1-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan.
Jesse Garfias fed
Theo Givens for a goal in the 29th minute at Foster Field on Saturday.
The Tornados showed no signs of fatigue in the second match of a back-to-back. In his season debut, goalie
Joshua Redding held firm and fearless as he corralled all 12 shots on goals against him in the clean sheet.
Immediately on the counterattack in the 29th, Concordia capitalized as the speed of Garfias and Givens was too much to handle. Taking the lead into the half, CTX would show no signs of faltering as they would take home the victory.
Concordia Texas will return back to Texas but will still be on the road as they head to Longview, Texas to take on LeTourneau next Thursday, September 12th at 7pm.
