AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's basketball team surged past Schreiner University in a conference rematach by a score of 72-57. Destiny Mathews (16 points, 18 rebounds) & Kiki Gonzales (15 points, 10 rebounds) both tallied double-doubles inside the Deb & Don Fieldhouse on Friday. 

A fast start by the Tornados was capped off by a Sam Ising block & Taysie Trejo layup for a 10-4 score through the first five minutes of action. This would serve as the largest lead by either team in the first half as CTX would carry a slim 29-28 margin into the half. 

Concordia would find breathing room with a 16-5 start in the third for a 45-33 lead midway through the frame. The Mountaineers would find some rhythm to cut the deficit to 50-44 heading into the fourth. 

With the Tornados leading 58-53 with 4:34 remaining in the game, they would put the game away with a 13-1 burst that was punctuated with a deep three by Madison Martinez.
